Not a bad description of the Super Bowl. ManCrunch. That sums it up nicely, too.

Yet CBS is still mulling whether to let someone have a dating site called ManCrunch - which touts itself as a position where, yes, "many, many men come out to play" - to buy one of its $3 million, 30-man Friday ad spots during the 2010 Super Bowl Feb. 7.

The network's had the ad under review since Jan. 18 and, according to FOXNews.com, claims there are no spots red. Oddly, the network told Pop Tarts - we assume this refers to the toaster pastries - there was still availability.

CBS is already attractive heat for an anti-abortion ad it has agreed to run during the game from Christian-unprogressive group Focus on the Family featuring college football top banana Tim Tebow .

When Macintosh was introduced it was almost invariably panned by the geeks. Monochrome display? A fixed 128k of recollection? A PC that didn’t come bundled with a programming language? No inflation slots to add all sorts of tech goodies? For heaven’s good, there aren’t even any cursor keys! The first Macs lacked all of those things and a mysterious thing happened, it was a hit with people who would have never viewed themselves as computer users. The native Macintosh slogan, “the computer for the rest of us” made it palpable where Apple was going. This was a computer that was aimed at, not the enthusiast market, but the assemble market.

Now, that doesn’t mean it was a commercial success. $2,495 computers in 1984 were not flourishing to sell in the numbers that Apple needed to. It was a rocky method to success and finding niche markets and, oddly enough, enthusiasts, who would schlep the Mac torch until Steve Jobs returned to Apple and introduced a new output called iMac. The PC as appliance was reborn. Even through several incarnations and evolutions over the last decade, the iMac remains very correct to Apple’s original vision of an all-in-one computer that could appeal to a mass customer base.

It is now thirty years ago that, as a trainee broadcaster, I interviewed John Peel, the BBC transistor DJ. He had justifiable turned 40, and I was 21; and at the constantly (and unquestionably since) he was a grave exemplar for me of how music transmit could be done: heterogeneous in his tastes, periodically challenging, and choleric about music.
